If you are arrested for a felony in Florida, a new law will require you to give DNA

A new law was passed during this legislative session that will make everyone arrested for a felony in Jacksonville or anywhere in Florida give a DNA sample to put in a database. The law has to be signed by the governor to go into effect.

As it stands now, you only have to give your DNA if you are enter a plea to a felony or are found guilty of a felony. If the law is signed, even people who are wrongly arrested in Jacksonville or people who have their felony charges dropped in Jacksonville will still have to give their DNA.
