A former Leoni, Michigan police officer has been convicted and sentenced for misconduct in his office. Jerry Massey Jr. was arrested for filing a false felony and misconduct in office. He arrested a man for assaulting him and reported that the man hit Massey’s shoulder causing an accidental firing of his weapon. The Michigan Police investigated and found that Massey accidentally fired his gun, but the man didn’t attack him. Massey arrested the man for a felony simply to cover up his mistake.
Massey has been sentenced to serve 3 weekends in jail and 1 year probation.
