Recently, the U.S. Attorney General said that marijuana distributors will only be arrested on the federal level if they are in a state that prohibits the distribution. Federal law prohibits pot sales, but 13 states allow medical use of marijuana. Before the Obama administration changed the policy, the feds would raid California’s marijuana dispensaries and arrest people for selling and possessing pot. These distribution sites were legal in California, but the federal law made it illegal.
Many think this shift is one step towards legalizing the sale and use of pot in our country. In Jacksonville and and all of Florida, you can be arrested for possessing pot and selling pot.
